When To Test Mobile Affiliate Campaigns

With mobile affiliate marketing time of day and day of the week can have a big effect on your conversion rate.

This has to do with a user’s engagement level.

Unlike traditional web marketing, people almost always have their mobile device with them throughout the day. Therefore depending on what they’re doing, can have an impact on your conversion rate.

For example, if someone is standing in line at a store and they come across your ad, they may quickly close out once their wait is up.

That’s why I always encourage new mobile affiliates to begin testing offers from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. in the specific Geo. This is the local time of your traffic.

Experience also tells me that Thursday – Sunday typically perform much better than Monday – Wednesday. On the weekends we find people have more time to spend on their mobile devices and are more engaged during their browsing experience.

So when you’re looking to setup your next test, make sure you’re hitting these optimal times as they’ll help you make the very most out of your testing budget.

Most traffic sources easily allow you to set this up in their interface in a feature called “day parting” so everything runs automated (who wants to spend their weekend behind a computer).
